The One With The Beauties & Their Brother | NW IA, Natural Light Family Photographer

Meet The Luevano’s.  Janice is a new co-worker, friend, side kick and awesome mama to 4 gorg kiddos and fab husband!  Her bond with her family reminds me of the relationships we often have with other people.  My mother and I have had many conversations about how people come and go in your life.  Some are meant to stay forever while others may arrive to teach us a lesson or to learn a lesson and then go on their way again. This does not mean their presence in your life is any less significant. It simply means that their purpose was served and life continues to move forward. There are other times when you receive gifts when you least expect it. There are people that suddenly appear and it seems as though you can’t imagine what life was like before they wandered in.  This is Janice.

Gasp. Gulp. Sigh. Totally gorgeous…a little sneak peek!

…I do realize I have not been very good at blogging this summer.  It’s not for lack of things to post.  I have so many beautiful summers sessions waiting to be shown off and some really amazing shoots coming up that I can’t wait to share.  Life has just been a bit busy lately and during these beautiful summer days, I simply cannot bring myself to sit in front of a white screen when I know winter is just around the corner.

The One With The 3 Year Old Bombshell | NW IA Natural Light Child+Family Photographer

Meet Hayden Dawn.  She’s my niece.  She is almost 3 years old.  She love singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star + Are You Sleeping.  She has spunk + razz. She loves the pool (and looks oh so cute in her swimming suits with ruffles).  She loves her Papa and Grandma (A LOT).  She calls all meat chicken.  She is loving to learn + sing new songs that I am teaching her (Are You Sleeping).  She is very smart and is always a step ahead of you, planning her next get away.  She loves Dora + Care Bears (sticks her tummy out and ‘stares’, but Monsters Inc is her all time favorite movie.  She loves playing outside + will drop everything (literally) to run+ play in the yard and have Papa lift her up to ring the bell.  She always has shoes on and loves shoes.  She has beautiful reddish+ blondish hair that smells like strawberry shortcake.

Her name is Hayden Dawn and she is 3 years old!  All hair flowers by ModKnots.

The One With The Basket | NW IA Child+Family Natural Light Photographer

Meet Haily.  At just a little over one month old, she is a lot older than the newborns that I typically shoot, but none the less just as content.  I love it when props have a history, a story and the basket says it all.  The basket belongs to her mama’s grammy.  Congrats Valencia family on your new addition!  Looking forward to load of cousin pics!  All hats by ModKnots!

Meet Alannah.  My niece is to DIE for.. I mean I love her TOO MUCH.  You will be seeing a lot of this doll face in the upcoming months!  Since moving into a new home in the great state of MN two weeks ago. I am settling in, slowly but surely, but the move has made me put a few things on the back burner, like this blog. After this post I will be completely caught up. But, check back soon as I have a lot of fun sessions and fun locations coming up in the next few weeks.

Bits Of Life Photos
Owner/Photographer: Amanda Trei

Meet Bits Of Life Photos, RElocated. Change. I can feel it all around me. Outside and in, there are things moving and shifting and with it comes a new found, and most wonderful, peace.

The last year has been tough. A different kind of tough to the one I knew previously..a somewhat self inflicted phase of difficulty, based in a large degree of over-commitment and a misguided belief that I was somehow super human. Impervious. Able to accomplish far more than the average mortal in less time and no hiccups. I’ve come to recognize that I’m prone to filling the smallest gap with the biggest of tasks and that when you’re already trying to juggle lots of other tasks, that’s probably not a good thing. It’s certainly not a sustainable thing.

BUT, I’m certain I’m not alone here. As women, mothers, partners, friends, sisters, aunts, daughters, employees and self employed business owners, over-committed (sliding into over-whelmed) is a natural state of being a lot of the time but you do know when it’s no longer okay. When something has to give, before your sanity does. There are times when less really is so much more.

So, with all that confessed, I can also tell you I’ve come through the worst of it, I’ve once again learned to say no when I need to and wow, it sure feels mighty fine. Apart from the lingering guilt of neglecting people who didn’t deserve it along the way (self included), right now my heart feels happy and light and right. I’m so relieved and I’m so looking forward to the rest of this year..both personally and professionally.

It’s been months in the making but I’m so happy with my choices and new home.

One last bit of news, and very much about change + very exciting, I’m about to launch a new awesome business venture that is sure to keep my photography not only on track but kicked up a notch.  I’m just putting the last touches on this and will announce soon. I will let you know as soon as it’s launched – hopefully just weeks away.  The creating of something new has been a very long process (did I hear someone say indecisive perfectionist?) but we’re finally there.  I’m normally sentimental at this stage but not today. Today I’m embracing the chance to do things differently and so very excited to see what lies ahead. I can’t wait to share it with you.

Much Love,
Amanda
